HOW IT WORKS
The drive piston(s) is directly connected to the pump plunger or piston, with a high-pressure seal separating them.
Upon application of shop air (or gas), the assembly reciprocates automatically, generating a positive displacement pumping action at the liquid end.
This pumping action stalls and holds pressure when the downstream system is closed, ensuring system integrity.
The final pressure is determined by multiplying the drive air (or gas) pressure by the area ratio specific to each model.
The drive air or gas pressure can vary from 3 PSI to 150 PSI, accommodating different operational requirements and applications.

- Gas Purity: Most gases like Ar, CO2, He, H2, Ne, N2, N2O, O2, and breathing air must be clean and dry. Devices transferring or increasing gas pressure must be lubricant-free. HII’s air-driven gas boosters meet these needs using PTFE seals and cold drive air exhaust, ensuring no hydrocarbon lubrication is needed and extending seal life.
High Pressure Outlet: Mechanically driven gas compressors typically handle up to 6,000 PSI and require costly purifiers for higher pressures due to oil-lubricated pistons. Air-driven gas boosters avoid these issues and are suitable for pressures up to 25,000 PSI. HII's air-driven models are hydrocarbon-free.
Boost Directly from High Pressure Gas Cylinders: Mechanical compressors can't inhale from high-pressure gas cylinders without reducing inlet pressure, which wastes energy. Air-driven gas boosters can, enhancing efficiency and simplicity when using portable DOT cylinders.
